| Lollo rosso lettuce. (Lactuca sativa var crispa) is of Mediterranean origin. Some sources classify this lettuce plant among Batavia lettuces, others among loose-leaf lettuces. A wonderful taste and decorative appearance. The tender and wavy leaves with a reddish pink tint are for decorating the table and enliven the faint lettuce mixes. The lower side of the leaves is bright green; the upper side is dark or bronze red. The leaves have very curly edges and they are thin, but rather strong and resistant. |
